French , Art and Culture
Want to practice your French by exploring and discussing Art masterpieces in a relaxed atmosphere? We will be reviewing European renowned paintings, describing the pictorial representation and discussing the context in which the art-work was created. You will learn to navigate the artistic language, enrich your vocabulary and expand on the life of those great artists. The course is developed to enhance the listening and speaking skills in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The class is conducted solely in French; however, technical vocabulary will be discussed prior to presentation and the conversation can be done in shorter sentences without having to use complex grammatical structures.
Tutor supplied material.
Each term, the class is individually constructed to respond to the participants' demands. Some artists will be proposed by the tutor; however, participants will be able to request specific artists they would like to study.
Planned Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, students should be able to:
· Have a better understanding of Art History by exploring key characteristics of a wide range of relevant artists and their works of art.
· Expand their vocabulary through the introduction of a specific terminology and syntax used in describing representational and abstract paintings. The participants will be given a template to be used in each class.
· Be able to participate in engaging and challenging dialogues and share their point of view with the audience.

Time : French , Art and Culture afternoon : 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm
French , Art and Culture evening : 6 pm to 8 pm
